This cakeshop has been here for several years. Once it was called Giordano, but eventually took the name of the Tamborini family. This shop demonstrates the richness and variety of cakes for which Turin is famous. In Turin the cakeshops are a kind of institution. You can find a wide range of cakes here. As well as the croissants filled with jam (cherry, apricot, and kiwi) there are many other varieties to try: chocolate "triestine", "veneziane", strudels (apple, pineapple and pear) and the classic "bignole". On the shelves you can see handmade panettoni, and an endless series of Piedmontese biscuits including, the Savoy "soffici" and the shop's speciality: "gemme Tamborini," classic amaretti with "gianduia" and rum.
