On the right of the entrance to the Regio Theatre, there is a staircase which leads to an underground theatre which seats 375, and is called the Piccolo Regia. There is a plaque on the front of the staircase dedicated to the Centenary of La Boheme, 1st February 1896-1st February 1996. The Piccolo Regio Puccini is a cultural space (Piccolo Regio Laboratorio) where it will produce and host shows complementary to the opera season. The main aim is to experiment with ideas including avant-garde projects. The Piccolo Regio Laboratorio is a new project which will allow young artists to perform in new and innovative shows. There are also other types of shows here, including ballets for schools, such as 'The Ghost of Canterville' by Oscar Wilde, Blues al Femminile which will take place in December, and different shows and concerts organised by the Central Cultural Jazz Association of Turin.
