Tiny but very elegant. This cafe was built in 1907 by Antonio Vadone and is fascinating because of its precious marbles enriched with bronze floral decorations, its boxed ceiling with Madeira leather inserts (by Patacchi) and its bar decorated with brass and mirrors. The Mulassano is only a short distance from the Royal Palace and the Teatro Regio. It was a popular meeting place for courtiers and Theatre performers alike. Legend has it that Gozzano made very long stops there and Macario loved to sit at the tables of this cafe observing the crowds in order to get inspiration for his characters.
