This is one of the most elegant cafe's in Turin. The decor has looked the same since 1903, however, the cafe is said to be much older. Its popularity among Turin's elite, both past and present, can be attributed to its Baroque interior with gilt friezes, marble and wooden fireplaces, the quiet corner tables and the impeccable service. Some of the most well-known patrons of past years are Pavese, Einaudi, De Gasperi and Giovanni Agnelli. In the summer, one can sit at the tables outside and enjoy a cake while watching the people of Turin coming and going, seemingly just out on a leisurely walk, but in reality, trying nonchalantly to tread on the bull's testicles. This shiny metal plaque embedded into the floor under the arches in front of the cafe is the emblem of both the city and the Caffe Torino.
