Enthusiasts should not miss out on a visit to the Armeria Reale (Royal Armoury), one of the largest collections of arms and armour in Europe. Founded by Carlo Alberto in 1837, it boasts rare pieces of white arms and firearms and armoury including armour belonging to the two metre tall Diego Felipe Guzman from the eighteenth century. A vast historic period is covered here, ranging from Medieval arms and pieces from the Risorgimento period, to Napoleonic relics and property of the Savoy sovereigns as well as a prestigious collection of oriental weapons.
